REPRESENTATION OF WOMEN AND CLIQUE'S.

Our music video focuses on the presence of young women.
During the opening, the audience are introduced to three different characters on a dating show of whom are clearly from different social backgrounds.

After discussion with our target audience we found that they believed that It is cliche for the 'pretty girl / diva character' to win the date with the male character and therefore we created a twist and made the 'tomboy / badgirl' character win the date.
This idea challenges the social norms of society.

We also presented the 'diva' character with a jelous streak (her interupting on the date in the cinema) to show looks can be decieving and an inner beauty within people can be often be over looked.

Having the idea of different female character types can also define the social barriers of the modern day. American movies, television showsand music videos often present and influence three main social clique's, those being;

GEEK / NERD Clique.

(often smart and enjoy education, do not focus souly on outer image or worry about material items / possesions. Within society often reguarded as 'rejects'.)

POPULAR KIDS Clique.

(Predominantly rich children who focus on fashion an material items. Often presented as stubborn, stuck up and not so interested in education. Gain high social status in school amongst peers)

BAD / 'GANG' RELATED Clique.

(Hip-hop cultured, urban and often feared by peers. Not very much into education however like to partake in sports like football / basketball.)

This idea has alo been captured in Avil Lavigne's -'Girlfriend' video and Chris Brown's - 'KissKiss' Video.
